Feeding Instructions
Recommended Daily Feeding Portion For Cats Over the Age of Twelve Months
1 cup= 110 grams. Based on a standard 8oz measuring cup.
Feeding Adult Cats During Gestation and Lactation: Provide increasing amounts of food during the second half of gestation, up to twice as much as the normal intake. During lactation, provide as much as your cat will consume.
Feeding Kittens: Introduce dry food around the fifth week and provide as much food as kittens will consume from weaning until twelve months of age.
Feeding Wet and Dry Together: Decrease the amount of Tiki Cat Essentials by approximately 1/8 cup for every small can (2.8-3 oz) of Tiki Cat wet food.
Feeding amounts vary with lifestyle, life stage and activity level. Always consult your veterinarian if you are unsure how much to feed your cat.
Make sure your cat has access to fresh, clean water.
The best way to transition to a new food is to switch gradually over the course of 7-10 days. For example, make a mixture that contains 25% of the new food and 75% of the old food and feed that for three days. Then make it 50-50 for three more days, then 75% new food and 25% old food for three more days. If your cat seems comfortable with this progression, you can start feeding 100% new food. If at any time your pet starts vomiting, has loose stools, or appears constipated, slow the rate at which you are switching the food. If problems continue to occur, consult your veterinarian.
