Chilean Wide Mouthed Toad Care
These baby toads are very hardy captives and will do extremely well in a semi-aquatic or fully aquatic setup with a water depth of 2-inches. They will thrive in water temperatures of 68F to 76F (aka “room temperature”). We keep their water at 74F to 76F all summer, and they grow like weeds. Offer your baby toads nightcrawlers, crickets, and other insects. Make sure there is something the toad can rest against (or hide under) in the water—we use cork bark. They will rarely exit the water entirely. No UVB lighting is necessary.
Sexing Your Chilean Wide Mouthed Toad
Please feel free to request a male or female toad (or any combination thereof) when you order our medium and adult sized amphibians, but please be aware that we cannot guarantee the sex. However, we can guarantee that someone very experienced with amphibians will attempt to select the specific toad(s) you are requesting.
